Bridal makeup trial: what to expect

A trial is where your wedding look is designed and stress-tested — here's how to get the most from it.

What a trial is for

The trial is a planning session as much as a makeup appointment. We test the finish (dewy or matte), the colours, and how the makeup wears over a full day — so there are no surprises on your wedding morning.

Bring photos of looks you love and, just as importantly, ones you don't. Knowing what to avoid shapes the look as much as inspiration does.

How to prepare

Come with clean, moisturised skin and no makeup if possible. Bring or wear a top in a similar colour to your dress, and anything you'll definitely be wearing on the day — jewellery, hair accessories, a veil.

If you have a hair appointment planned, a trial close to that date helps everything come together.

Getting the most from it

Live with the look for a few hours before deciding. Photograph it in natural light and indoors — cameras and eyes see makeup differently.

On the day itself we'll recreate the look and adjust to your venue's light. The trial is your chance to be certain.
