Booking

How far in advance should you book a wedding makeup artist in London?

The short answer: as early as you can — especially for summer Saturdays. Here's a realistic month-by-month guide.

Why London dates go quickly

Central London wedding venues host hundreds of weddings a year, and the best artists book out first. Summer Saturdays (May–September) and December dates are the fastest to go — often 12–18 months ahead.

If you have a specific artist in mind, enquiring early isn't pushy; it's normal. Most artists hold a date with a small deposit and confirm everything closer to the day.

A rough timeline

12–18 months out: secure your preferred artist for peak summer or December Saturdays.

9–12 months out: ideal for most spring and autumn dates; still plenty of choice.

6 months out: many artists still available, especially weekdays and off-peak dates.

3 months or less: possible — but you'll be choosing from who's free rather than who you want.

If your date is close

Don't panic. Weekday weddings, off-season dates and smaller celebrations often still have availability. Send your date anyway — and note that if Katie is booked, her hand-picked team may be able to cover it.

Wherever you are in your planning, an early enquiry costs nothing and tells you exactly where you stand.
