Skin prep before your wedding: your 6-week plan

Great wedding makeup starts weeks before the morning. Here's a simple, safe plan — no last-minute experiments.

The golden rule

Don't try anything new in the final weeks. A facial, a new product or a strong acid two days before a wedding is a recipe for a breakout or reaction.

Start any new skincare at least six weeks out, so your skin has time to settle — and ideally have it tested before the trial.

A simple timeline

Six weeks: gentle exfoliation once or twice a week, consistent moisturiser, plenty of water, good sleep.

Two weeks: keep it steady; no new treatments.

One week: nothing new at all — hydration, rest, and a calm routine. The day before, a gentle cleanse and a good night's sleep beat any last-minute 'glow' treatment.

The day itself

Come to me with clean, well-moisturised skin. If you're prone to redness or breakouts, we'll prep during the appointment so the finish stays even and calm.

Healthy skin is the best base any artist could ask for — protect it in the run-up.
